Manhattan Apartment Hunter
Released: 1999
Manufacturer: IWS Interactive
Demo Review:This is a demo for a Macintosh game that doesn't even exist. The website says they're hoping to get backing to finish the game. It's a cute idea for a game: You're looking for an apartment and go from one to the other, poking about and learning the stories of the current occupants. It's got a standard first person Myst interface and is pretty nice looking, with clever touches. Unfortunately it doesn't look very promising in terms of puzzles. First, the puzzle itself, finding the key to get out of the house you've somehow locked yourself into, is just silly. Next, I had to cheat on every puzzle. This was part pixel hunting problems, but the last puzzle is just insanely convoluted. With puzzles like these I can only hope this game will never be made.
