Before entering into a partnership with John A. Miller in 1920, Harry Baker was manager of Rexford Park in Schenectady, New York and a roller coaster contractor. After Miller and Baker's partnership ended in 1923, Baker went into business with his own line of rides, calling them "Whippet" and "Cyclone" coasters. The most famous of these is the Coney Island "Cyclone" in Brooklyn, New York. Designed by Vernon Keenan and built at a cost of $100,000, the ride opened on June 26, 1927. It's still running strong today.
