Josiah and Fred Pearce

The Pearce family was active in the amusement park industry in the early part of the twentieth century. Most of the two and a half dozen roller coasters they built have disappeared without plans or photos. They built the Big Dipper at Ohio's Chippewa Lake Park, a racing coaster at Revere Beach near Boston, and the "Biggest Roller Coaster in the World" (in 1915), Trip Thru the Clouds (shown below).
