The Cyclone at Puritas Springs Park, Cleveland, Ohio

Entrance to John Miller's Cyclone at Puritas Springs Park

Was the Cyclone at Puritas Springs Park, Cleveland, Ohio, John Miller's greatest roller coaster? Very possibly it was. Was it dangerous? Many said it was.

Puritas Springs Park closed in 1958; the Cyclone stood idle for several years after that. Ultimately it burned to the ground.

Although this remarkable ride is gone, you can still take a "virtual ride" on it. What follows is a start-to-finish description of a ride on the Cyclone supplemented with photos. Grateful acknowledgment is given to Jim Kelly for his help with the text and for pictures of his true-to-life scale model of the Cyclone.
