Beach wolf spider, Arctosa littoralis, family Lycosidae.  Here too;  close-up.

Yellow-sided skimmer.  A bee, genus Agapostemon, family Halictidae.
   Red-banded hairstreak.  Photos at New York Botanical Garden, Bronx.

Agapostemon close-up. Nice!  Long-legged fly, family Dolichopodidae; here too.

Some colorful inchworms, family Geometridae:  Red;  with Brachonid wasp;   yellow;  green, with Halictid bee.     A winged aphid;   here too.
Possibly a plant bug, family Miridae; another species with nymph.
Wasps:  Spider wasp, family Pompilidae; Potter wasp, genus Eumenes;
    Cicada-killer, family Sphecidae.   Queens Botanical Garden.  All above NEW

Jumping  spider, family Salticidae.   American copper  up-close with an ant.
Flower Lepturine, a longhorn beetle, family Cerambycidae.  Bearsville, Ulster Co. 

Ebony jewelwing;  common whitetail;  Meadowhawk (a tough-to-ID red species).
Fishing spider, genus Dolomedes, family Pisauridae.  Red-spotted purple.
Kakiat Park, Rockland Co.    Spicebush swallowtail. Doodletown Rd., Bear Mountain.

Question Mark.  Pink-spotted hawk moth, a local rarity. 9/21/03.  Riis Park, Queens.  Paper wasp, genus Polistes.  Floyd Bennett Field, Brooklyn.

Hummingbird clearwing moth Nice!   Milkweed longhorn, genus Tetraopes.
  Large milkweed bug,  nymphs;  small milkweed bug (family Lygaeidae).
  Crab spider, family Thomisidae. Nice!  Ailanthus webworm moth & mining bee.
  Broad-winged skipper. Nice!    Photos at Jamaica Bay.

Monarch caterpillar with aphids.  Leaf-footed bug, family Coreidae. Nice!
Yellow-collared scape moth, family Arctiidae.

Several Hoverflys, family Syrphidae. Most Hoverflys are mimics of bees and wasps:
  Summerfly, genus Syrphus Nice!  Drone fly;   yellow jacket fly.  Another Hoverfly,
  probably genus Sphaerophoria.  Photos above at Jones Beach West End.
