The Children's Illustrators Conference
at The Society of Illustrators, NYC

The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators is sponsoring its 23rd annual Portfolio Review on Monday, April 28, 2008 from 1 to 6pm at the Society of Illustrators, 128 East 63rd Street, New York City.

This exciting program presents a unique opportunity for illustrators and author/illustrators to have their portfolio reviewed by scores of art buyers and agents from the publishing and allied fields. Our reputation for exhibiting high-quality work and the ease by which buyers can examine a sizeable collection of portfolios, has resulted in numerous publishing contracts between buyers and illustrators. Please note that artists may not exhibit two years in a row.

We also offer, and highly recommend, one-on-one evaluations for portfolios and/or book dummies for all exhibitors. Portfolios are evaluated by an artists' agent (30-minute sessions). Book dummies are evaluated by a literary agent (15 minute sessions). Appointments are arranged between 9am and 1pm. Please note that One-on-One conferences are available to all conferees every year regardless of whether they are exhibiting a portfolio.

Registration is limited to 125 participants and only 80 portfolios are accepted. Illustrators must conform to our Submission Guidelines or risk having their portfolio rejected and their fee forfeited.
