Monday, April 28, 2008 The Children's Illustrators Conference at The Society of Illustrators, NYC Invitation to art buyers The Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators cordially invites you to our 23rd annual Portfolio Review on Monday, April 28, 2008 from 1 to 6pm at the Society of Illustrators, 128 East 63rd Street, New York City. The Portfolio Review is a unique opportunity for art buyers in the publishing and allied industries to view the work of 80 children's book illustrators and author/illustrators, both new and established. Buyers are able to view a wealth of high-quality work in a relaxed atmosphere with refreshments and a place to meet and greet. Many publishing contracts have resulted from connections initiated at the conference. Illustrators are not present during the viewings and may be contacted through promotional pieces available at their portfolios. There is also a provision for buyers to leave their business cards or contact information with individual artists. Art buyers are invited to attend a mixer from 5 to 6:30pm as guests of SCBWI.
