Slow Hearth Studio is a design firm with an extensive portfolio of work in
Art Direction, graphic design, photography, photo-illustration and typography,
-- and the intriguing ways they merge in the digital age. Sean and Katie
Mosher-Smith established Slow Hearth in 1992 in Brooklyn, NY. The studio
has created everything from web sites and CD packaging to book covers and
editorial photography for clients such as
Time Magazine, The Village
Voice, RCA Records, Viacom, Avon Books,
MTV, and Universal Records, among others. Slow Hearth's design and photography have been displayed in Communication Arts,
The Art Directors Club of New York's "Young Guns" Exhibit, IDEA Magazine's Special Issue: "Work From New
York", Photo District News, Steve Heller and & Gail
Anderson's Typography Book, and Photography Forum. They often blend their design
and photography to produce rich, textural images that range from provocative
portraits to dream-like scenes and eerie landscapes.
